As per the French media outlets, Chelsea are among the clubs considering a surprise January swoop for unsettled Paris Saint-Germain centre-forward Edinson Cavani.
The future of Uruguay international at the Parc des Princes is in serious doubt after a high-profile row with his new teammate Neymar on the pitch during the win over Lyon.
The reports have suggested that Neymar wants the former Napoli man sold after the dispute, which saw them come to blows on more than one occasion over who should be on set-piece duty.
Paris Saint-Germain have spent £199m on Neymar in the summer and the Brazilian striker is now their undisputed star, with speculation growing that 30-year-old Cavani could be offloaded as soon as the transfer window re-opens in the winter.
The Daily Mail reported that Chelsea are believed to be one of the most realistic suitors, but Everton, Inter Milan, Juventus, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund are also interested.
There are various complications over the Uruguayan’s exit, however, with Cavani looking to maintain a decent pay packet, play in the Champions League and continue to be the first choice up front.
PSG are looking to sell players this January, however, as they are under pressure to adhere to Uefa’s Financial Fair Play regulations after a summer of heavy spending.
